25 Healthy ways to release anger

Sometimes life can feel really challenging.

We experience moments that may seem confusing, stressful, frustrating, or completely out of our control. In these times of inevitable change, no matter what is going on outside of us, we always have a distinct power within ourselves. Embracing this autonomy for personal leadership is a critical skill in a rapidly transforming environment and unpredictable society.

When you feel anger bubbling up inside of you, what do you do?

We can always take action. Below are 25 healthy ways to release:

  1. Speaking up for yourself or protesting

  2. Dancing, shaking, vibrating, twerking

  3. Taking direct action in your community (donating time or money, cleaning up your block or beach, etc.)

  4. Listening to energetic music

  5. Hiking with a friend or family member

  6. Safely screaming

  7. Cooking or baking new or familiar recipes

  8. Stress-relief meditations

  9. Attending community grief circles

  10. Lifting weights

  11. Rage journaling

  12. Painting or creating art

  13. Jumping rope

  14. Gardening
